About Me

My Background

 Lisa LaMonica is an
author and illustrator in
upstate New York who
has received awards for
her artwork. She was
nominated for Artist of
the Year in 2002 by the
Columbia County Council
on the Arts. Lisa teaches
art privately. I have been featured twice on WMHT's A House for the Arts.

My Medium

I use many different mediums, such as mosaics, acrylics, oil and watercolor and pastels.  I enjoy making monoprints and collage.

My Inspiration

  I have
attended the Hudson
Childrens Book Festival,
the largest of its kind in
the Northeast, every year
since its inception.   Books include Haunted Catskills/The History Press and Images of America:Hudson/Arcadia Publishing; a recipient of a grant from Furthermore, a program of the JM Kaplan Fund.
I have written for Chronogram Magazine, Hudson Valley Parent Magazine, and PBS/WMHT.
